More than 25 restaurants and bars from across the Las Vegas Valley are packing into Red Rock Casino Resort & Spa this Friday for a dine-around gala that has quietly funneled over $2.5 million toward local students chasing careers in hospitality. The event, known as M.E.N.U.S. — Mentoring and Educating Nevada's Upcoming Students — marks 25 years of scholarship work by the organization now known as the Hospitality Charitable Foundation.

The gala's lineup this year includes L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Morimoto, StripSteak, Chica, and Cantina Contramar, among others, offering tastings, curated cocktails, premium wine and spirits, and live entertainment throughout the evening, according to KLAS 8 News Now. This year's event, themed Reflections for the foundation's 25th anniversary, is set for October 2, 2026, and will honor local hospitality leader Martha Morales, per GiveSmart.

Over its history, the foundation has raised more than $2.5 million in direct scholarship and educational support for Clark County students entering culinary and hospitality fields, according to Vegas Happenings. The foundation's annual M.E.N.U.S. gala supports its scholarship program.

The Foundation's Leadership

The Hospitality Charitable Foundation's governing board includes more than 20 executive food and beverage leaders from across the Las Vegas Valley, Chic Compass Magazine reported. Its members are active hotel and restaurant executives.

The foundation awards qualifying Clark County high school graduates up to $48,000 in full-ride scholarships covering college tuition and expenses, and pairs each recipient with a board member mentor through its Future Leaders of Hospitality Program, according to the Hospitality Charitable Foundation. That mentorship model connects students directly with hospitality executives for the duration of their college years.

The foundation's recent college graduation rate is 83%, and donor contributions funded full-ride scholarships for 29 local students in 2025.

A Gala That Doubles as a Classroom

Beyond raising money, M.E.N.U.S. gives participating scholars hands-on operational experience, with students working front-of-house and event-execution roles alongside executive chefs and event managers, according to GiveSmart. That direct interaction with resort executives has often led to post-graduation internship and job placements for recipients.

The gala has a history of drawing major entertainment names, with past M.E.N.U.S. events featuring acts like Train, Counting Crows, Stevie Nicks, and Chicago, according to the foundation's own history.

Feeding a Massive Local Workforce

UNLV's William F. Harrah College of Hospitality enrolled roughly 2,500 students in 2026 and ranks first in the United States and sixth globally for hospitality management, according to QS World University Rankings as cited by Collegedunia.

A May 2025 UNLV research report found that 41 of the Clark County School District's 123 schools offer a Culinary Arts Career and Technical Education program, according to the UNLV News Center. The report also describes CTE programs as workforce pathways.
