Herbert Bertram Grossman, 68, was killed in his Las Vegas apartment sometime between November 23 and November 26, 1990, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. The department describes the case as an unsolved robbery-homicide and has renewed its appeal for information.
In its public appeal, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department
said a witness reported seeing a man enter Grossman's apartment during that period but did not see him leave. LVMPD described the man, based on the witness's account, as white, between 20 and 30 years old, about 6 feet tall and of medium build, with medium-dark hair. He was wearing a white button-down shirt and Levi jeans.
A Ransacked Home and Missing Belongings
LVMPD said Grossman's apartment was ransacked and several belongings were missing when his body was found. The department has not publicly specified what was taken or provided further details about when or how his body was discovered.
LVMPD has not confirmed the apartment's street address, so it is not included here.
Police Renew the Public Appeal
LVMPD's renewed appeal asks people to share the case details in case they recognize the witness's description or recall information that could help investigators. The notice describes the case as unsolved; it does not say that police have reopened it.
