Pittsburgh is waking up clear and chilly Friday, but the city is headed for a sunny afternoon near 72 degrees. Light west winds and dry conditions should make Friday the easiest day for outdoor plans before the weekend turns noticeably wetter.
Saturday Stays Warm Before Rain Moves In
Saturday will remain mild, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 75. The dry stretch should hold through the day, with rain showers expected early Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
That makes Saturday the better half of the weekend for festivals, errands and outdoor meetups, though evening plans may need a backup option. The latest outlook adds sharper timing and stronger rain chances to Hoodline’s earlier forecast.
Sunday Brings Heavy Rain And A Few Storms
Sunday looks like the weekend’s weather troublemaker, with rain showers likely before afternoon showers and thunderstorms develop. The forecast calls for a high near 70, a 100% chance of precipitation and roughly one-half to three-quarters of an inch of rain, while winds could gust to 24 mph.
The broader Pittsburgh region could see locally heavier downpours, although forecasters say widespread flooding concerns remain low after several dry days. Ponding near clogged storm drains is still possible, especially as falling leaves begin adding to the seasonal drainage problem, and a few lightning strikes cannot be ruled out.
Monday Offers A Quieter Reset
Showers and thunderstorms may linger Sunday night, but Monday should bring improvement after a chance of early rain. Mostly cloudy skies and a high near 73 are expected, followed by additional shower chances Tuesday before a mostly sunny Wednesday near 69.
No watches, warnings or advisories are currently listed for the Pittsburgh area. For now, Friday is the day to enjoy the sunshine, Saturday is the day to watch the timing, and Sunday is the day to keep an umbrella close.
