Pittsburgh is getting one more warm, mostly sunny day Thursday before a Friday cold front flips the script, bringing widespread rain and a noticeable weekend cooldown. The city starts the morning near 63 degrees under clear skies, then climbs toward 83, so Thursday is the day to squeeze in outdoor plans.
Thursday Brings Summerlike Warmth
The National Weather Service expects mostly sunny skies, south winds around 5 to 12 mph and rain chances near zero. Temperatures should rise through the 60s during the morning and reach the low 80s during the afternoon.
Friday Rain Arrives After 11 A.M.
Rain showers are expected to develop after 11 a.m. Friday, with a 100% chance of precipitation and a high near 76. The forecast calls for roughly a quarter- to half-inch of rain, followed by a chance of lingering showers before 7 p.m. and a much cooler low around 48 Friday night.
The timing is now clearer and wetter than the setup described in Hoodline's Wednesday forecast, making Friday the day to keep outdoor plans flexible and allow extra time for travel.
Cooler Weekend Sets Up Chilly Nights
Saturday looks like the weekend winner, with sunny skies, a high near 69 and no rain expected. Sunday should be partly sunny around 71, while overnight lows fall into the low 40s Monday and Tuesday nights before sunshine and a high near 68 return Wednesday.
No Watches Or Warnings Listed
No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for the Pittsburgh area in the latest National Weather Service update. Friday's rain could still complicate midday commutes and outdoor events, but conditions should settle quickly behind the front.
