Two people were rushed to the hospital after a crash in central Omaha late Thursday night, with police confirming at least one victim suffered injuries considered serious. Officers were called to the scene near 90th and Pacific streets just before 11:45 p.m.
According to WOWT, police dispatch confirmed both people involved were taken to the hospital following the collision. An officer at the scene said both victims are expected to survive, even though at least one sustained injuries described as serious.
What Police Have Confirmed So Far
Details beyond the dispatch confirmation remain limited. The station's report, authored by Elaina Riley, does not specify the vehicles involved, the exact cause of the crash, or the identities of those hospitalized.
Central Omaha drivers passing through the 90th and Pacific area late Thursday would have encountered the aftermath of the wreck as officers worked the scene. No additional information on citations, road closures, or a timeline for reopening was included in the initial report.
A Separate Deadly Crash Also Under Investigation
Separately, KETV reported that Omaha police have identified the victims of a different, fatal crash in the city. Authorities said a westbound Chevy Silverado struck a Toyota Highlander in an intersection, pushing the Highlander downhill into a large pole.
The victims in that crash were identified as 10-year-old Melissa Suar and 18-year-old Jose Suar, both passengers in the Highlander, per KETV. Seven people in total were riding in the Toyota, and the collision sent five others to the hospital. It is not established whether this fatal crash is connected to the late-night hospitalization reported near 90th and Pacific streets.
Police say the investigation into the fatal crash remains ongoing. No further details have been released in either incident as authorities continue to piece together what happened.
