A 43-year-old Lincoln County man has been sentenced to 25 years in federal prison after admitting he used a hidden camera to secretly record three boys, ages 8 to 11, and amassed more than 4,000 images of child sexual abuse material. Jeremy J.W. Crouch pleaded guilty in July 2026 to one count of production of child pornography and one count of receipt of child pornography.
Federal prosecutors accused Crouch of photographing one of the boys while he slept wearing only his underwear, according to KMOV. Investigators have said Crouch had babysat the children he recorded, and a search of his home turned up electronic devices holding child sexual abuse material along with handwritten notes detailing his encounters with victims.
How the Investigation Unfolded
The case traces back to a tip flagged on Crouch's Verizon account, which the St. Charles County Cyber Crime Task Force received in March 2025, per the KMOV report. According to FOX 2, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children had filed a report on March 9 after getting a tip about suspected child pornography tied to a Verizon customer's cloud account.
A Lincoln County detective working with the task force was assigned to dig into that report on March 27, the station notes. Investigators arrested Crouch on April 24 at his job at NAPA Auto Parts in Troy. A subsequent search of his home turned up DVDs, an external hard drive and handwritten notes that, per the same account, mentioned four prepubescent victims. Authorities said they later identified the victims shown in the images and determined Crouch had babysat them.
Part of a Broader Federal Push
Crouch's prosecution falls under the Justice Department's Project Safe Childhood initiative, which the agency describes as a program that marshals federal, state and local resources to locate, apprehend and prosecute people who exploit children online and to identify and rescue victims, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
Federal sentences in similar Missouri hidden-camera cases have varied widely. Justice Department announcements describe a St. Charles County man sentenced to 17 years after producing videos and still images of underage girls using concealed cameras, and a Scott County man sentenced to 10 years for secretly filming underage boys in a bathroom. Other cases have drawn sentences matching Crouch's: the department says a man was sentenced to 25 years for using a hidden camera to record the sexual abuse of an 8-year-old girl, and a St. Louis County man received 25 years followed by lifetime supervised release for producing child pornography.
