A new Little Caesars has opened its doors at 4486 Abbe Road North in Sheffield Village, bringing fresh-made pizza dough, a mozzarella-and-muenster cheese blend, and Crazy Puffs to the Lorain County community. The store is open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The new store is in Sheffield Village. Sheffield Crossing is a retail center anchored by Giant Eagle, according to a LoopNet listing. The listing says the area has more than 132,000 residents within five miles and an average household income of $97,000 within one mile. It also reports more than 37,000 vehicles per day, a combination that tends to draw grocery, dining and daily-needs retailers to the stretch.
A Familiar Brand Fills Out Lorain County's Pizza Map
The Sheffield Village shop joins a cluster of Little Caesars locations already dotting Lorain County, including stores in Sheffield Lake on Lake Road, in Lorain on Broadway and North Leavitt Road, and in Elyria on Broad Street, per the chain's own store locator. Little Caesars, founded in 1959 and based in Detroit, bills itself as the world's third-largest pizza chain with roughly 5,500 locations; xMap lists 157 Ohio locations as of July. The new Sheffield Village unit adds one more storefront to that in-state footprint.
Ohio has emerged as one of the brand's most active markets. The state counted 157 Little Caesars locations as of July, and it posted the nation's highest share of high-traffic “busy” store locations at 26.8%, according to data reported by ScrapeHero. That ranks Ohio among the top states nationally in total store count, alongside Texas, California and Michigan.
Part of a Broader National Expansion Push
Little Caesars had 4,374 domestic locations in 2025, according to PMQ Pizza, whose article originally appeared on QSR.com. Hoodline describes it as the country's third-largest pizza concept, trailing only Domino's and Pizza Hut.
Launching a single franchise is not cheap. Opening a Little Caesars typically requires an investment of about $600,000, with liquid asset requirements starting at $200,000, per reporting from KGW. Franchise operators also complete a six-week corporate training program before opening, the station reported. Despite that upfront cost, the stores themselves stay compact — typically between 1,000 and 1,700 square feet — and employ roughly 20 part-time workers and managers, which helps the chain slot into strip centers like the one anchoring Sheffield Crossing.
Menu Innovation and NFL Marketing Keep Traffic Moving
Menu Innovation and NFL Marketing Keep Traffic Moving Part of what's fueling that national growth is menu innovation aimed at snackers. Little Caesars launched its $3.99 Crazy Puffs in March 2024 to capture quick-service snacking demand, later adding a Cheesesteak version. The chain has paired that menu push with its role as the NFL's Official Pizza Sponsor, running multi-year marketing campaigns featuring players like Jared Goff, Justin Jefferson and George Kittle, as Hoodline previously reported on the NFL tie-in, with limited-time items regularly timed to football season kickoffs.
Sheffield Village residents now have a new option for a quick pizza night.
