Long Beach police are asking for the public’s help finding a 51-year-old woman who disappeared from a residential care facility earlier this week and has not been seen since. Aimee Zapolya is considered at-risk because of a mental health condition that may leave her disoriented, and she relies on a walker to get around.
According to the MyNewsLA.com, the Long Beach Police Department sought the public’s assistance Friday in locating Zapolya. She was last seen around 8 a.m. Wednesday in the 4200 block of East 10th Street, leaving a residential care facility located two blocks west of Wilson High School.
What Zapolya Was Wearing When She Disappeared
Police describe Zapolya as a 5-foot-3-inch-tall white woman weighing 250 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The same report notes she was last seen wearing gray sweatpants and a purple shirt, and that she is known to use a walker, a detail that could help narrow down how far she may have traveled on foot since Wednesday morning.
Her disappearance from the East 10th Street facility, just a short walk from Wilson High School, has left investigators relying on the public to fill in what happened after she left. No further details about her condition or whereabouts since Wednesday have been released.
How to Report a Sighting or Tip
Anyone with information about Zapolya’s whereabouts is urged to call the Long Beach Police Department’s Missing Persons Detail at 562-570-7246 or police dispatch at 562-435-6711.
