A GoFundMe organized by Ross Hansen for Tim and Sherri Elliott was created Sept. 16 to help cover medical treatment, lost income and household costs. The fundraiser page says Tim missed two months of work during chemotherapy. As of October, it showed $14,970 raised from 119 donors toward a $25,000 goal: GoFundMe.
Colorado paid-leave options
Workers may seek paid medical leave through Colorado FAMLI for their own serious health condition, subject to the program’s application and health-care-provider certification requirements, according to Colorado FAMLI. Its FAQ says most employees meet the wage-based eligibility threshold after earning $2,500 in Colorado wages during the last five completed calendar quarters. These general rules do not establish whether Elliott qualifies; workers can consult the state’s FAMLI site for current requirements.
Concert planned for Nov. 8
“Rockin’ for Tim” is scheduled for Sunday, Nov. 8, at Grimm Brothers Brewhouse in Loveland. Westword reported that El Loco Fandango, Smokin’ and Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Track Revival are on the bill, with doors opening at noon and performances running from 1 to 5 p.m. The brewery’s event listing also names the three acts and describes a silent auction and other fundraising activities; it invites auction-item contributions and directs people who cannot attend to the GoFundMe.
Earlier fundraising work
In May 2016, Elliott organized Drumming Up Hope at Loveland’s Thunder Mountain Amphitheater. According to 9NEWS, 35 drummers played in shifts during the 72-hour event, which raised nearly $6,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Realities for Children.
Westword reported that Elliott is being treated for an aggressive form of cancer and has missed work during treatment. The outlet identifies him as a drummer with El Loco Fandango, a ZZ Top tribute act, and Smokin’, which performs Boston songs, and lists Project Foreigner, Judgment Day and KISSm among his other groups: Westword.
