Papa Razzi's Pizza, the Malibu spot known for its long-fermented sourdough and New York-style pies, is planning to open a second location in Agoura Hills. Co-owners Tamar Asayag and Oren Zroya are targeting a December 2026 opening in the former Parma's Pizza space at 5649 Kanan Road, inside the Agoura Meadows Shopping Center.
The move was first reported by conejovalleyguide.com; WhatNow Los Angeles later reported that Asayag and Zroya are aiming to bring the same menu and philosophy from their Malibu restaurant to the Conejo Valley. The Agoura Meadows Shopping Center previously housed Parma's Pizza and currently includes Latigo Kid, Italia Deli, Cronies, and a Vons, according to the outlet. A separate report from conejovalleyguide.com also pointed to the 5649 Kanan Road address as the site of the incoming pizzeria.
Why Agoura Meadows Felt Like Home
According to WhatNow, Asayag and Zroya chose the Agoura Meadows location because its mix of local businesses reminded them of the setting around their original restaurant in Malibu. “It's really a great plaza. There's a lot of great local small businesses around us, and we always like to be surrounded by good local businesses, as we are in our first location in Malibu,” the co-owners said, per the outlet's report.
Papa Razzi's original restaurant sits at 29169 Heathercliff Road in Malibu, a location that, per WhatNow, draws customers from the surrounding area including Calabasas. The Malibu spot's own ordering page, hosted on Toast, lists the address as 29169 Heathercliff Road, Unit 104, Malibu, California 90265, and describes a menu built around organic, long-fermented sourdough New York-style pizzas.
A Slower Dough Process and a Pitch on 'Feel-Good Food'
The sourdough process behind Papa Razzi's pies takes longer than conventional dough preparation, the owners say, and they frame that extra time as central to their approach. “We believe in feel-good food,” Asayag and Zroya said, according to WhatNow's report. The pair say their focus is on flavor, texture, and how customers feel after eating.
Part of that pitch centers on what the restaurant leaves out. The owners cook without seed oils, telling WhatNow: “No seed oils, and making sure people really feel great after eating our pizza. That's really what we want people to know.” The Toast page echoes that ingredient focus, stating the restaurant prioritizes organic ingredients and locally sourced produce and says it works closely with local farmers and artists to curate offerings for its community. The same Toast listing also notes the restaurant bakes homemade sourdough loaves daily, made with activated charcoal.
One Step at a Time Before Any Further Growth
For now, Asayag and Zroya are staying focused on getting the Agoura Hills restaurant open before considering anything beyond that, though WhatNow reports the pair remain open to future expansion down the line. No details on hours, pricing, or seating for the new location have been released.
Fans of the Malibu original can find daily updates on the restaurant's Instagram account, which lists its hours as 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily with pickup and delivery available. Whether the Agoura Hills shop will mirror those same hours hasn't been confirmed.
