A 26-year-old man was left in critical condition after he was ejected from his vehicle during a single-vehicle rollover crash on San Antonio's Northwest Side. The crash happened around 4:43 p.m. Saturday in the 5300 block of UTSA Boulevard near Texana Drive, leaving the driver with life-threatening injuries.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the vehicle rolled over and the driver was thrown from it during the crash, as reported by News 4 San Antonio. He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Investigators have not yet determined what caused the vehicle to crash or what happened in the moments leading up to the rollover, the outlet reported.
Cause Still Under Investigation
No further details about the driver's condition or the circumstances of the crash have been released. The cause of the crash remains undetermined.
This is not the first time a rollover has drawn emergency crews to the same general stretch of the Northwest Side. In October 2025, one person was hospitalized after a rollover crash near Interstate 10 West and UTSA Boulevard, according to FOX San Antonio. That crash happened just after 9:30 a.m., and San Antonio Fire Department officials said the person involved was taken to the hospital as a precaution. A Hazmat crew was also dispatched at the time to clean up diesel fuel that had reportedly leaked from the vehicle. It is not known whether that earlier incident is connected in any way to Saturday's crash beyond happening in the same part of the Northwest Side.
What Remains Unknown
As of now, investigators have not said what caused Saturday's vehicle to crash or what the driver was doing in the moments before the rollover. No additional updates on the man's condition had been released.
