Pattern of Shootings in the Arlington Area
Monday's shooting adds to a string of violent incidents that have drawn JSO response in the Arlington area in recent months. In early September, two people were shot in Arlington with the suspect remaining unidentified, according to a separate News4JAX report, which said crime scene detectives processed evidence while investigators with the Robbery and Violent Crime Unit interviewed witnesses and recovered several shell casings.
Other recent cases in the neighborhood include a shooting after an argument near Arlington Road North and Blackard Road, in which a man in his early 20s was shot once in the chest and was in non-life-threatening condition, according to Action News Jax. And at the Regency Inn on Arlington Expressway, two men were shot and taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries before 36-year-old Amber Campbell was arrested and charged with attempted second-degree murder, as reported by First Coast News.
No suspect details have been released in Monday's shooting, and the circumstances surrounding the man's death remain under investigation by JSO homicide detectives.
