A man was stabbed to death late Sunday night in Pico Rivera, and Los Angeles County Sheriff's homicide detectives still have not identified a suspect, a motive, or even the victim himself. The stabbing happened around 11:43 p.m. in the 6300 block of Rosemead Boulevard, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to loscerritosnews.net, authorities have not released the victim's identity, age, or any information about the circumstances surrounding the attack. Investigators have also not disclosed whether the victim and the suspect knew each other, leaving the motive behind the killing entirely unclear for now. The MyNewsLA reported that the stabbing occurred near the intersection of Rosemead Boulevard and Crossway Drive, and that homicide detectives were summoned to conduct a crime scene investigation.

Scene Cordoned Off at Green Single-Family Home

Video from the scene showed yellow crime scene tape stretched around a green single-family house, with two cars parked in the driveway, per MyNewsLA's report. No suspect information was available immediately after the stabbing was reported, and as of Monday, the case remained unresolved. The outlet's report notes the Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau, with Lt. German Ochoa listed as the contact, is handling the investigation.

Anyone with information is being asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Homicide Bureau at (323) 890-5500. Tipsters who wish to remain anonymous can instead reach out to Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477).

Not the First Fatal Stabbing in the Area

This is not the first time Sheriff's homicide detectives have investigated a deadly stabbing in Pico Rivera. Back in January 2019, the Los Angeles Times reported that detectives probed a double stabbing in the 9900 block of La Docena Lane that left one man dead and another injured, in an attack that occurred shortly before 2 a.m. There is no evidence linking that earlier case to Sunday night's killing.

Pico Rivera has also seen other recent homicide investigations unrelated to this latest stabbing. In a case reported May 21, deputies were dispatched to the 8300 block of Telegraph Road near the 5 Freeway after reports of an unresponsive man, who was found dead at the scene; CBS News Los Angeles later identified him as 68-year-old Alfredo Escamilla. Separately, NBC Los Angeles reported that two people were found dead in Pico Rivera following a domestic incident, with a third person taken to a nearby hospital. None of these prior cases have been tied to Sunday's stabbing, and investigators have offered no indication the incidents are connected.

For now, the Sunday night stabbing remains an open homicide investigation with no suspect named and no motive disclosed. Residents in the area around Rosemead Boulevard and Crossway Drive are left waiting for answers as detectives continue piecing together what led to the man's death.
