A man was found dead Thursday night after a shooting on Minglewood Drive near Concord in Beaumont, and police say they are investigating it as a case of domestic violence. Officers were called to the 3400 block of Minglewood Drive shortly before 9 p.m. and found the victim dead at the scene. No charges have been announced, and investigators have not released his name.
According to KFDM, officers responded to a victim-of-shooting call at the address and located the man dead when they arrived. Police said his next of kin has since been notified, though his identity has not yet been made public. Investigators also said that all parties connected to the shooting have been detained as the case unfolds.
What Police Have Said So Far
Beaumont police have been clear that they consider this a domestic violence case, though they have not detailed the relationship between those involved or the sequence of events that led to the shooting. As of Friday, no word had come on whether charges would be filed against anyone detained in connection with the case.
The investigation remains ongoing, with police saying more information will be released as it becomes available.
A Look at Beaumont's Broader Crime Trends
The shooting comes as violent crime across the region has shown signs of easing. A search-result snippet from 12NewsNow indicated that violent crime in Beaumont and Port Arthur was down year-to-date in 2025, while neighboring Orange was described as essentially flat. That broader trend offers little comfort to the Minglewood Drive neighborhood, where a fatal shooting occurred just steps from Concord.
Among the details investigators have made public are the time of the call, the block where it happened, and the detentions that followed. Beaumont police have promised updates as the investigation continues, but have stopped short of naming the victim or outlining what charges, if any, may follow.
