A man was found dead Monday morning inside a vehicle parked outside the Temple Terrace Public Library, which was serving as an early voting location at the time. Police and fire rescue crews were called to the branch at 202 Bullard Parkway around 7:33 a.m. after a report of an unresponsive man sitting in the driver's seat of a parked car.
According to tampafp.com, first responders determined the man was dead at the scene after arriving at the library parking lot. The outlet reports that investigators have not released the man's name or a cause of death as the inquiry continues, and the Temple Terrace Police Department opened a death investigation following the discovery.
Voting Operations Continued Without Interruption
Despite the emergency response unfolding just outside the building, officials said the library remained open to the public and that voting operations were not disrupted by the investigation. The same tampafp.com report notes that the early voting site kept running normally throughout the morning, even as police worked the scene in the parking lot.
As reported by tampabay28.com, investigators said there is no known threat to public safety tied to the man's death. That station also confirmed the investigation remains ongoing, with no further details released publicly as of Monday.
What Remains Unknown
As of Monday afternoon, Temple Terrace police had not identified the man found in the vehicle, and no cause of death had been made public. The case was first reported locally by WFLA, and the investigation was still active as authorities continued working to piece together what happened outside the Bullard Parkway library.
