No Suspect Leads as Investigation Continues
Police said there is no suspect information at this time, per the same account from wavy.com. The investigation into the shooting remains ongoing, and no further updates on a motive or possible weapon have been made public.
The conflicting reports differ on how residents should reach out with information. The Suffolk News-Herald's account states that anonymous tips can be submitted through the Suffolk Crime Line at 1-888-562-5887, option 5, while wavy.com's report instructs the public to call 1-888-LOCK-U-UP, use the P3 tips app, or visit P3tips.com. Either way, people with information are being asked to contact Suffolk police.
Part of a String of Recent Suffolk Shootings
Friday's shooting follows other recent violence investigated by Suffolk police. In July, police probed a shooting on Keaton Way that left a man with life-threatening injuries, according to a separate Suffolk News-Herald report. In a different case from August, two teens were later charged after a shooting on Plummer Boulevard that also left a man with life-threatening injuries; he was eventually released from the hospital, and the two teens were held without bond, according to 13newsnow.com.
No connection between those earlier cases and Friday's shooting on Sleepy Hole Road has been established. For now, Suffolk police continue to ask anyone with information about the Sleepy Hole Road shooting to come forward as the investigation remains active.
