A man was shot in the leg Wednesday night on Louisville's Norbrook Drive and rushed to the hospital, and as of the latest report, police still don't have anyone in custody or even a known suspect to chase. The shooting happened in the 4200 block of the street at around 10 p.m., leaving investigators to piece together what happened with little public information to go on so far.
According to WHAS11, Louisville Metro police officers responded to the 4200 block of Norbrook Drive and found a man who had been shot in the leg. He was transported to UofL Hospital, and LMPD said his injuries were non-life-threatening.
As of the report, investigators had no known suspects in the case.
Police Ask Public for Tips
LMPD is leaning on the public for help moving the case forward. The department asked anyone with information to call its anonymous tip line at (502) 574-5673 or submit a tip through its crime tip portal, per the same report.
This is not the first time gunfire has rattled the area around Norbrook Drive. A report from June 25, 2026 described a separate shooting near the street in which a man was shot in the leg and was alert and conscious when EMS transported him, according to WDRB. And back in April 2024, a man was shot to death near Buechel and Norbrook Drive, with police at the time searching for suspects, the same outlet reported.
A Busy Stretch for Louisville Shootings
Wednesday's shooting also follows a reported house party shooting just days earlier. On Oct. 18, a man arrived at UofL with a gunshot wound after officers responded to a call connected to a reported house party, according to WDRB and WAVE.
City officials have pointed to broader improvement in gun violence numbers even as individual shootings continue. Louisville Metro Government has reported a 25% drop in nonfatal shooting victims so far in 2026 compared with the same point in 2025. The city's gun violence dashboard, which officials say is updated daily using data pulled from LMPD's Mark 43 records-management system, is intended to track that kind of trend over time.
For now, the man shot Wednesday night remains the latest name added to a list of unresolved cases in the area, with police still asking the public to help fill in the gaps.
