A 46-year-old woman waiting for her rideshare in Manassas on Wednesday evening was approached, groped and assaulted by a stranger who left her injured before she managed to break free and call police. The attack happened around 5 p.m. in the 10700 block of Coverstone Drive, and the suspect remains at large.
According to dailyvoice.com, the man allegedly touched the woman inappropriately and assaulted her, leaving her with injuries, as she stood waiting for her ride to arrive. The outlet reports she was able to get away from her attacker and reported the incident to police soon after.
Prince William County Police are now searching for the man responsible, according to WJLA. Investigators have described him as a Hispanic man with a medium build and short black hair, last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, jeans and a black baseball cap.
Police Appeal For Public's Help
Detectives have not announced an arrest, and the circumstances that led the man to approach the woman in the first place remain unclear from what has been released so far. The department's description of the suspect, drawn from the victim's account, is the only lead currently made public.
Anyone with information about the incident or who recognizes the suspect is asked to contact Prince William County Police, the same account notes. The case is also being tracked by Patch, which likewise reported police are seeking the public's help identifying him.
For now, the woman's account and the police description are the only details publicly available, and investigators have given no timeline for when the search for the suspect might be resolved.
