A Pattern of Store Robberies in Caldwell County
The Morganton News Herald reported in June 2020 that the Sheriff's Office responded around 9:35 p.m. to an attempted robbery at Pappy's Market on Dudley Shoals Road in Granite Falls and was seeking information on suspects.
Caldwell County has dealt with armed robberies at convenience stores before. The Hickory Record previously reported that officials sought help finding a suspect connected to the robbery of a Granite Falls convenience store on March 6, while WBTV reported an arrest in a 2018 Caldwell County convenience store robbery case. Both were earlier Caldwell County convenience-store robberies.
For now, the man who held up the Cajahs Road store remains unidentified and at large. Deputies are relying on the public to help close the gap, urging anyone with information to call Sgt. Crosby or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
