Bullet Hole Found at Nearby Storefront
WEHO Online reported that a bullet hole was visible in the front window of Fugazi, a business at 8750 Holloway Drive, underscoring how close the gunfire came to passersby on the busy stretch. Initial radio traffic described the victim as a Black man approximately 35 years old who had suffered a gunshot wound to his lower back, though that detail has not been independently confirmed beyond the initial reporting.
Investigators are trying to find information about a suspect, and authorities have not released a possible motive for the shooting, according to both KTLA and CBS Los Angeles. Surveillance footage was described as showing what appeared to be an attempted broad-daylight robbery, but the sheriff's department had not publicly confirmed robbery as the motive as of Thursday evening, per WEHO Online's reporting.
Second West Hollywood Shooting in Two Months
Thursday's attack marks at least the second shooting to rattle West Hollywood in recent months. In August, a man was shot in the leg at Harriet's Rooftop, a cocktail lounge atop the 1 Hotel on Sunset Boulevard, with the incident reported just before 9 p.m., according to NBC Los Angeles. That victim was also hospitalized following the shooting, the station reported.
No suspect descriptions beyond those released by investigators have been confirmed in Thursday's shooting, and the search for the three men continues. Anyone with information has not yet been directed to a specific tip line in the reporting so far, and Hoodline will update this story as more details become available.
