Silver Street Studios is throwing open its doors after sundown for the first time with Art After Dark, a one-night experience welcoming guests 21 and older to an evening built around projection mapping, live music and specialty cocktails. The inaugural event lands on Saturday, October 24, inside The Warehouse at Silver Street, with Houston hip-hop legend Mike Jones set to close out the night as headliner.

According to Sawyer Yards, Art After Dark is designed to turn The Warehouse at Silver Street into what organizers call a vibrant social destination where art, music and technology intersect. The venue sits within the larger Sawyer Yards creative arts campus at 2101 Winter St. Ste A100, a sprawling complex that, per Sawyer Yards, is home to more than 300 established and emerging artists spread across six warehouse buildings. Silver Street Studios itself functions as the arts and events hub of that campus.

The night's visual centerpiece will be large-scale projection mapping that uses the warehouse's interior walls as a canvas, built from custom digital content created specifically for the event. As CultureMap Houston reports, those projections will combine imagery made for Art After Dark with images of work by local artists, including selected pieces from Silver Street's own resident creators. The Warehouse at Silver Street, located at 2000 Edwards St., will transform into a performance venue for the night, the outlet notes.

Mike Jones Headlines a Night of Local DJs

Mike Jones will perform a 45-minute headlining set, according to the same CultureMap report, capping a lineup that also includes a curated run of local DJs. The specific DJ names had not been announced as of the CultureMap report, which states only that local DJs will take the stage ahead of Jones. Attendees can expect food and drinks, including specialty cocktails, available for purchase throughout the evening alongside the immersive installations and live entertainment woven through the space.

Art After Dark runs from 7 to 11 p.m., and organizers have noted the event may change due to weather or other concerns. General admission tickets were priced at $50 and were set to rise to $65, the outlet's report states, while VIP tickets ran $150 to $165 and include access to a dedicated viewing area, a VIP bar, entry and a commemorative trading card. Ticket pricing for the event spans a range from $65 up to $2,000 depending on the package selected.

Proceeds Benefit Fresh Arts

A portion of net proceeds from Art After Dark will benefit Fresh Arts, according to Sawyer Yards, tying the night's ticket sales directly to support for the local arts community that fills Silver Street's studios year-round. For a campus built around hundreds of working artists, the event offers a rare after-hours showcase that blends their work with projection technology and a hometown headliner in Mike Jones.
