A Statesville woman is facing child exploitation charges after police say detectives searched her residence on Hedgewood Drive and seized electronic devices containing child sexual abuse material. The Mooresville Police Department arrested the 48-year-old woman and booked her into the Iredell County Jail under a $300,000 bond, with the investigation still active.
According to WCCB Charlotte, the woman arrested is identified as Jennifer Gray, who was charged with five counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor. Iredell Free News, however, identifies her as Jennifer Wynette Gray, 48, of Brevard Street in Statesville. The two outlets differ on her full name, and that discrepancy has not been independently resolved.
Search Warrant Led Detectives to the Hedgewood Drive Home
A Mooresville Police Department detective executed a search warrant at 139 Hedgewood Drive in Mooresville, the same report from Iredell Free News states. Gray, who was the subject of the department's investigation, was located inside the residence during the operation and was taken into custody without incident.
Detectives seized her personal electronic devices for forensic examination. Investigators later reported finding numerous files containing child sexual abuse material on those devices, per the same account.
Charges and Bond
Gray was charged with counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor and transported to the Iredell County Jail, where she remains held under a $300,000 bond. North Carolina law classifies a violation of G.S. 14-190.17A as a Class H felony, according to North Carolina General Assembly records.
The Mooresville Police Department said the investigation into the case remains ongoing. No further details on the search warrant, the alleged conduct, or any court proceedings have been released.
