Detroit woke Tuesday to clear skies and temperatures in the low 40s, but sunshine is already setting up a much warmer afternoon near 65 degrees. Local readings showed calm winds and excellent visibility early in the morning. It is a jacket-at-breakfast, sunglasses-by-lunch kind of day.
Sunny Tuesday Gives Way To Breezier Wednesday
According to the National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac, Tuesday daytime will stay sunny and dry, with southwest gradient winds gusting approximately 15 to 25 mph later in the day. A slight chance of sprinkles or light rain arrives Tuesday night. Tuesday night will turn partly cloudy, with temperatures settling near 53 and southwest winds gusting as high as 22 mph.
Wednesday brings the warmest day of the near-term forecast, with mostly sunny skies and a high near 75. A weak front could produce a stray sprinkle or light shower Tuesday night into Wednesday morning, but thunderstorms are not expected and measurable rain is unlikely to become a major problem.
Dry Weather Builds Into The Weekend
Thursday and Friday should remain sunny with highs near 68, followed by a sunny Saturday near 71. Sunday looks warmer again, reaching about 74 under mostly sunny skies, while Columbus Day should stay mostly sunny with a high near 69.
The updated outlook extends the mild, dry stretch described in Monday’s Hoodline forecast through the holiday weekend. For Detroit residents, the pattern is simple: chilly mornings, increasingly comfortable afternoons and very little reason to keep rain plans on standby.
