A Napa County jury has found Amador Solano guilty on several counts stemming from a break-in at a woman's home where he sexually assaulted her while she showered. The verdict closes out a case that began on the evening of June 20, 2024, when Solano, then 34, broke into the Napa residence, according to the Napa County District Attorney's Office.
According to the Napa County District Attorney's Office
, the jury's guilty verdict covered sexual penetration by a foreign object, assault while committing a burglary, first-degree burglary with a person present, false imprisonment by violence, criminal threats, petty theft, and possession of both cocaine and methamphetamine, as detailed by
KRON4
. The outlet reports that the victim fought Solano off, forcing him to flee — though not before he grabbed her purse and wallet.
Police later found Solano along the Napa River Trail still carrying the woman's purse and wallet, along with methamphetamine and cocaine, per the same KRON4 report. The arrest at the time drew separate coverage from the Napa Valley Register, which identified the arrested man as 32-year-old Amador Solano Ortiz — a detail that differs from KRON4's identification of the defendant as 34-year-old Amador Solano at the time of the break-in. Neither the discrepancy in age nor the use of a middle name has been explained in available reporting.
Victim Testified Against Her Attacker
The woman took the stand during Solano's trial and testified against him, the KRON4 report notes. Prosecutors with the district attorney's office described her as showing extraordinary bravery in defending herself from her attacker, even after he told her, “Esto será más fácil si haces lo que te digo” — “This will be easier if you do what I tell you.” That same courage, the office said, carried into the courtroom when she took the stand against him.
“Su fortaleza y valentía a lo largo de este proceso judicial han sido admirables,” the district attorney's office said in its statement, adding a hope that the verdict would bring her “justicia, paz y tranquilidad” as she continues her recovery.
Sentencing Date Still to Come
Solano is scheduled for his next court appearance on November 17 at 8:30 a.m. in Courtroom 1 of Napa County Superior Court, according to the district attorney's office. The office described that date as the hearing where the court will set a future date for sentencing. KRON4, however, characterized the same November 17 date as Solano's sentencing hearing itself — a discrepancy between the two accounts that remains unresolved.
