A Needles man was arrested Tuesday in connection with a case involving a minor in Puerto Rico. The suspect faces charges of contacting a minor to commit a sex offense and possessing child pornography.
The arrest was announced by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.
The case involved a minor in Puerto Rico. The suspect was charged under California Penal Code sections 288.3(a), contacting a minor to commit a sex offense, and 311.11(a), possession of child pornography.
The case reached detectives after the Sheriff's Department received multiple CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning alleged possession of child sexual abuse material and online enticement tied to Williamson, the department said. Detectives now believe there may be additional victims beyond the teenager identified in Puerto Rico, though the department has not said how many or whether any have been located.
Specialized Unit Took on the Case
The investigation was handled by detectives assigned to the Sheriff's Department's crimes-against-children unit. Anyone with information was asked to contact Detective Elizabeth Holguin at (909) 890-4904, while those wishing to remain anonymous can call or text the We-Tip hotline at 844-909-3006.
The case lands amid what child-safety advocates describe as a surge in reports of this kind. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said its CyberTipline received 1.4 million reports concerning online enticement in 2025, a 158% jump from the year before, and that more than 80,000 of those reports involved sextortion, according to the organization's data. The center said it escalated more than 53,000 urgent or imminent-danger reports to law enforcement last year, and that reports from electronic service providers included 61.8 million images, videos and other files tied to child exploitation incidents.
County Operation
Earlier this year, a two-week Sheriff's Department operation dubbed Operation Firewall drew personnel from 15 patrol stations and led to 101 arrests and the rescue of 16 children, as CBS News Los Angeles reported.
The case remains under investigation.
