New Castle County Police announced a case involving D’Andre Murphy.

An Investigation Into Murphy

According to New Castle County Police, detectives with the department's Drug and Human Trafficking Investigations Team opened an investigation into Murphy after suspecting he was distributing narcotics throughout New Castle County.

Inside those two locations, detectives say they recovered approximately 3,165 bags of suspected heroin or fentanyl, 89 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded .40-caliber handgun and assorted drug paraphernalia. Murphy was transported to New Castle County Police headquarters before being formally charged.

He also faces one felony count of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and one felony count of possession of a deadly weapon by a person prohibited, plus a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Those weapons-related offenses track with provisions cited in Delaware Code Online, which identifies possession of a deadly weapon or firearm during a felony, and possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, as distinct offenses.

Murphy was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 7 and committed to Howard R. Young Correctional Institution after failing to post the $128,000 cash bail set in his case, police say.

A County Drug Bust

A county drug bust followed an extensive investigation and led to arrests.

Beulah was held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $162,252 cash bail, the outlet reported.
