Madison Kineston, 27, has waived her right to a preliminary hearing in a case pending in Lawrence County Court of Common Pleas, where she awaits trial or a plea, according to New Castle News. The report says District Judge Melissa A. Amodie committed Kineston to the Lawrence County Jail on $50,000 bond.

Under Pennsylvania Rule 541, a defendant represented by counsel may waive a preliminary hearing at the preliminary arraignment or later, according to the rule. The New Castle News report does not state when Kineston waived the hearing or identify her attorney.

New Castle News reported that Kineston faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct. She was arrested at her home on the 1000 block of Winslow Avenue on Sept. 19.

The charges stem from a Human Services Center worker’s visit to Kineston’s home. In a separate report, New Castle News said the worker told police she left after Kineston became combative, and alleged that Kineston then attacked her at her car and damaged the vehicle with a baseball bat. These are allegations; Kineston is presumed innocent unless proven guilty or otherwise adjudicated in court.
