A family-owned coffee shop has set up inside Dosan Social Eatery in Clovis, giving regulars a reason to show up one hour before the restaurant even opens its doors. The Cafe at Dosan serves specialty lattes, a full restaurant menu and bar service from inside the sprawling eatery at 80 W. Shaw Ave., and its owner says the goal was simple: build a calmer corner of the building where people can actually sit and talk.

According to KMPH Fox 26, the cafe is a family-owned business tucked inside Dosan Social Eatery, and owner Jasmine Dosanjh says she wanted to create a calmer, more comfortable atmosphere for studying, socializing and community events. The menu leans into seasonal flavor, with cranberry, tiramisu and pumpkin spice lattes rounding out the fall lineup. A coffee nut latte has also emerged as an early customer favorite, the station reports.

Beyond coffee, the cafe gives customers access to a full restaurant menu and a bar experience, so a latte order can easily turn into lunch or a cocktail without leaving the counter. Dosanjh's husband and brothers also contribute to the family business, and the family says it plans to partner with local businesses and creators while working community connections into its seasonal menu and future events, per the same KMPH account.

A Bigger Eatery Built Around Buffet Nostalgia

The cafe operates on its own clock inside the larger operation: it opens at 10 a.m., a full hour ahead of the Dosan Social Eatery restaurant, which opens at 11 a.m. That restaurant occupies an 8,129-square-foot building at 80 W. Shaw Ave. between Villa and Minnewawa avenues, according to The Fresno Bee, and it packs in a salad bar, buffet, meat-carving station, cocktail lounge and bar under one roof.

Dosan is owned by Aman Singh, who serves as owner and operations manager, along with her co-owner husband Gill Singh and co-owner brother Junior Dosanjh, the Bee reported. Singh told the paper the concept draws on restaurants Clovis residents have mourned for years, saying, “The community has said they wanted Sweet Tomatoes again. They've said they missed Silver Dollar Hofbrau.” The building itself has some history behind that nostalgia play: before Dosan moved in, the space operated as a Straw Hat Pizza franchise from 2020 until recently, per the Bee's reporting.

Room for a Crowd, With a Softer Touch

Singh also told the outlet the eatery can comfortably handle a party of 200 people inside, positioning Dosan as a venue option as much as a neighborhood restaurant. The owners redesigned the space with a more elegant and tranquil atmosphere and dialed back the volume on televisions in the bar area, swapping a louder sports-bar feel for something closer to a lounge.

That community-first framing extends to how Dosan describes its own mission. The eatery aims to be a social hub for friends and family to gather and share memorable moments, according to a separate KMPH report. Per the restaurant's own listed hours on its website, Dosan is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to Dosan A Social Eatery.

Early word-of-mouth has already started circulating online. A Reddit post in the r/Clovis_CA community flagged the restaurant's debut, noting simply that the new social eatery was set to open in Clovis on October 3rd. For now, the cafe's seasonal lattes and the restaurant's buffet-era throwbacks are giving Clovis two distinct reasons to walk through the same front door.
