Leander has its first Eyemart Express, with the eye care retailer opening a new store on Monday at the Gateway 29 development near the Liberty Hill border. The location at 8481 W. Hwy. 29, Ste. 130, is the company's sixth store in the Austin area and carries more than 2,000 frames for adults and children.
The opening comes amid rapid growth along the State Highway 29 corridor. Eyemart Express general manager Crystal McAnally said the store is the first Eyemart Express in Leander and aims to provide convenient, affordable eye care, according to Community Impact. The company now operates six locations across the Austin area, including a store in Cedar Park, with additional locations in Austin and Round Rock.
“Our eyewear experts and lab technicians are here to help make eye care easy and stress-free for everyone who walks through our doors,” McAnally said, per the same account, adding that the goal is to help the community see every moment clearly.
What the New Store Offers
Shoppers can browse designer frames from Versace, Michael Kors and Kendra Scott alongside the broader 2,000-plus frame selection, the report notes. The Leander location also offers eye exams and same-day service for glasses, and staff accept customers' current or existing prescriptions. According to the Eyemart Express website, the store offers exams through partner optometrists, and the company says it accepts over 1,000 insurance plans.
To mark the opening, Eyemart Express is running buy-one-get-one-free sales on prescription frames, per a news release cited in the Community Impact report. The store also offers a 20% discount for veterans, military families, teachers, school staff, first responders and healthcare workers. Eyemart Express has more than 260 locations nationwide, the outlet reports.
