A brand-new gospel and Christian hip-hop festival called HRVSTLAND is making its debut in Charlotte, founded by local artist Mike Teezy, according to WCNC. The event is billed as the first of its kind in the city, bringing together Christian R&B, Christian rap and gospel acts under one roof — or, depending on who you ask, one amphitheater lawn.
What's on the Bill
The festival's own event page describes a day built around music and community, with organizers promising “the best in Christian R&B, Christian Rap, and Gospel music,” according to the event listing at miketeezymusic.com. General-admission doors are set to open at 3:30 p.m., kicking off with a DJ party featuring Parks, per the same listing. VIP ticket holders get an earlier start, with doors opening at 2 p.m. and a hard arrival deadline of 2:15 p.m. for anyone hoping to cash in on VIP perks.
Those perks are notable for a first-year event: VIP packages include first choice of sitting or standing location, a Q&A session, a photo opportunity with performing artists, a souvenir bag and a signed exclusive poster, the organizer's page states. The festival is also opening its grounds to businesses, with outdoor vendor space set aside for selling products, handing out promotional materials and networking. Families are welcome too — children ages zero to five can attend as long as they're accompanied by a parent, according to the event details.
Where, Exactly, Is HRVSTLAND Happening?
Here's where things get murky. The organizer's own event page lists Unity Charlotte International, at 5323 E Independence Blvd, as the host site — but a search-result snippet tied to that same page instead names Steele Creek Church on W Arrowood Rd as the venue, a discrepancy the underlying listing itself does not resolve. Adding to the confusion, Bandsintown's own listing for the festival points to Steele Creek Church as well, while Songkick's listing places HRVSTLAND at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheatre entirely. None of the available listings reconcile which location is correct.
The lineup carries its own open question. Songkick's page names Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith and CeCe Winans as headliners for HRVSTLAND Festival 2026, but that roster doesn't appear anywhere in the organizer's own event materials, leaving the full artist lineup unverified beyond the DJ Party with Parks mentioned on the official page.
Charlotte's Growing Gospel Footprint
Whatever the final details shake out to be, HRVSTLAND arrives in a city that's already carving out a reputation on the gospel and Christian-music circuit. Charlotte has hosted the Stellar Gospel Music Awards, a program established in 1985 that reportedly reaches a combined national television audience of more than 3.6 million viewers, according to WCNC's earlier coverage. The city has also played host to the Joyfest Gospel Music Festival, which has drawn names like Mary Mary, Marvin Sapp, Travis Greene and Jonathan McReynolds, per Charlotte's Got A Lot.
For founder Mike Teezy, HRVSTLAND marks a new addition to that scene — one he's framed as a launching point rather than a finished product. Details like ticket prices, expected attendance and which venue will actually host the crowd remain unsettled questions as the festival's debut weekend arrives.
