Early Thursday, Norfolk was under mostly cloudy skies with temperatures around 62 degrees, but the gray opening should give way to a warmer afternoon. The forecast calls for partly sunny skies and a high near 72, with little chance of rain.
According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, light northeast winds and patchy morning fog or low clouds should fade by midmorning. Thursday night turns mostly clear, with temperatures dropping to around 54 degrees.
Friday Brings The Warmest Stretch
Friday looks sunny and warmer, with a high near 77 and light northwest winds. The air turns breezier Friday night as north winds rise to 6 to 12 mph, while temperatures fall to about 56.
Halloween Looks Dry But Cooler
Saturday, October 31, should be mostly sunny with a high near 63 and northeast winds of 8 to 12 mph. The evening forecast is mostly cloudy with a low around 54, but rain is not expected — a solid setup for trick-or-treating if costumes can handle a bit of chill.
That is a cooler Halloween outlook than the mid-60s forecast discussed earlier this week in Hoodline’s earlier update. Sunday remains partly sunny and milder near 67, while Monday stays mostly cloudy near 70 with only a small chance of rain.
Mostly Dry Into Next Week
Rain chances remain low Tuesday, when temperatures could reach 72 under partly sunny skies. A slight chance of showers arrives Wednesday after 7 a.m., but the day should still be partly sunny with a high near 73.
