Norfolk starts Monday with clear skies and a crisp morning around 50 degrees, but sunshine will push temperatures close to 69 by afternoon. North winds will stay light at 2 to 6 mph, and rain is not part of the local forecast.
The National Weather Service Wakefield expects a quiet stretch across the city, with no land-based alerts listed. That is a cleaner setup than Sunday’s waterfront-focused forecast, when coastal flooding concerns were still part of the conversation in the region.
Clear Nights And Sunny Afternoons Continue
Monday night should remain clear, with temperatures falling to about 48 degrees and southwest winds of just 1 to 5 mph. Tuesday will bring another sunny day near 69, followed by a mostly clear night with a low around 54.
Wednesday stays mostly sunny with a high near 67, although northeast winds around 10 mph could make the waterfront feel a little cooler. Thursday should rebound to about 71, while Friday currently looks like the warmest day of the week at roughly 73 degrees.
Boaters Face A More Complicated Monday
On land, conditions look straightforward, but mariners in southern coastal waters should pay closer attention. The latest forecast discussion keeps a Small Craft Advisory in effect through 6 p.m. Monday, with elevated seas expected south of the Virginia Capes.
Saturday remains partly sunny near 71 degrees, with only a slight chance of rain. Shower chances increase Sunday, when partly sunny skies and a high near 71 could give way to a wetter Sunday night.
Rain Chances Return Sunday
The current forecast puts the chance of rain at about 24% Sunday and 35% Sunday night. For the rest of the week, though, Norfolk is looking at dry weather, light winds and a distinctly pleasant late-October warmup.
