A new Nothing Bundt Cakes bakery has opened in Palm Springs, marking the specialty dessert chain's third shop in the Coachella Valley alongside existing locations in Palm Desert and La Quinta. The store held a soft opening on October 6 and celebrated its official grand opening Saturday with free treats, giveaways and special offers for the community.
According to NBC Palm Springs, organizers planned to give the first 50 grand-opening guests a card good for one free bundtlet every week for a year, while the next 50 guests were slated to receive a free confetti bundtlet. The outlet reported the bakery sits between a Panda Express and a Firehouse Subs, though the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce lists its official address as 5200 E. Ramon Road, Suite G6.
Ribbon-Cutting and Community Giveback Planned This Week
The bakery will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday alongside the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce, per the same NBC Palm Springs report. Teachers and school staff can get a buy-one-get-one-free bundtlet deal Monday through Wednesday by showing a school identification badge, and the shop is partnering with the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Springs on October 22, when it will donate 20 percent of that day's sales to the organization.
The new location rounds out the chain's desert footprint, which began with its Palm Desert bakery along Highway 111 in spring 2014 — the franchise's 91st store overall, according to Nothing Bundt Cakes. The chain later expanded into La Quinta, and now adds Palm Springs as its third Coachella Valley address, as detailed by The Coachella Valley Edit

What's on the Menu
Shoppers can pick up individual bundtlets, an eight-inch cake that serves roughly eight to 10 people, larger tiered cakes, or bundtinis sold by the dozen, per NBC Palm Springs. The new shop gives Palm Springs residents a dessert option closer to home and another avenue to support local community organizations through its opening-week promotions.
A National Growth Push Behind the Local Opening
The Palm Springs debut lands amid a much larger expansion effort. Nothing Bundt Cakes now operates more than 800 bakeries across 45 U.S. states and Canada, with corporate goals to hit 1,000 locations by 2027, according to QSR Magazine. The chain added a net 119 stores in 2025 alone as part of that push.
Founded in 1997 by Dena Tripp and Debbie Shwetz out of their home kitchens in Las Vegas, Nothing Bundt Cakes has grown into a Dallas-headquartered franchise network, per 1851 Franchise. Franchised stores generated an average net revenue of $1.48 million in fiscal year 2024, the outlet reports.
Hiring Locally as the Brand Scales Nationally
Global investment firm KKR acquired Nothing Bundt Cakes' parent company in May 2026 in a deal reported to be valued at roughly $2 billion, acquiring the chain from previous owner Roark Capital.
Locally, hourly starting wages for bakery team members at Coachella Valley Nothing Bundt Cakes locations range between $20 and $21 per hour as of late 2026, per listings reviewed on Indeed. The new Palm Springs bakery adds another entry to that hiring pool as the national chain continues its march toward 1,000 stores.
