NYPD Seeks Information About Attempted Robbery
According to a NYPD Crimestoppers post on Facebook, the department issued a wanted notice related to an attempted robbery.
No arrests have been announced. The department is asking anyone with information to come forward, either through a direct message to @NYPDTips or by calling the Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
What Charges Could Apply If Suspects Are Caught
Under New York Penal Law § 160.05, third-degree robbery is a Class D felony, according to the Law Offices of Robert Tsigler. Whether conduct could support a robbery charge depends on the facts and applicable law.
The Law Offices of Jeffrey Lichtman describe second-degree robbery under Penal Law § 160.10(1) as applying when a defendant is aided by another person actually present during a forcible stealing. The offense is a Class C violent felony carrying up to 15 years in jail.
Delivery Workers' Working Conditions Draw Attention
Other incidents involving delivery workers include a Richmond Hill package theft on August 19, 2026, classified by NYPD Crime Stoppers as grand larceny. Delivery workers' working conditions and injustices have also drawn attention.
Citywide, overall major crime rates remained roughly 25% higher than pre-pandemic 2019 levels, according to the Brennan Center for Justice.
Pay Protections and Street-Safety Proposals
App-based delivery drivers in New York City are entitled to a mandated minimum pay rate of $22.13 per hour before tips, a standard enforced by the city's Department of Consumer and Worker Protection under the Delivery Worker Laws, per NYC.gov. That framework was underscored last month when city officials finalized a $131.5 million enforcement settlement with DoorDash covering more than 260,000 delivery workers over wage theft and labor violation claims.
Nearly two dozen street-safety bills and proposals have addressed e-bikes, speed enforcement, and licensing.
