Omaha police are asking the public for help finding a missing woman with dementia who vanished Wednesday night from a stretch of the city near 13th and Martha Streets. Officers describe her as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 165 pounds, with gray hair and brown eyes, last seen wearing a dark blue coat and medium blue pants.
The Omaha Police Department identified the woman as Maryann Gleason, according to WOWT, which reported she is 69 years old and has dementia. The station reported she was last seen near 13th and Martha Streets on Wednesday night. A separate report from KETV gave her name as Maryanne Gleason and said she was last seen heading eastbound from that same intersection.
Conflicting Details on Her Age and Name
Not every account agrees on who, exactly, officers are looking for. A Citizen alert from Wednesday referred to the missing woman as Mary Ann Gleason and listed her age as 65, a discrepancy from the 69 years reported by WOWT and KETV. The spelling of her first name also varies across the reports, appearing as Maryann, Maryanne, and Mary Ann.
Despite those differences, the physical description has remained consistent: a woman standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds, with gray hair, brown eyes, and the same dark blue coat and medium blue pants noted in the original report. Police have not released additional identifying details beyond what was shared Wednesday night.
A Separate Search Resolved Safely
The Gleason search comes a day after Omaha police put out a separate alert for a missing vulnerable adult who went missing from 35th and Grant Streets in North Omaha, a different location from where Gleason was last seen. That case was resolved when the missing adult was found safe, per the earlier WOWT report. Nothing in the available reporting ties that earlier case to Gleason's disappearance.
Anyone with information about Gleason's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
