Father John Pietramale, the pastor of Christ the King Catholic Church, remains hospitalized in Omaha after a crash. The parish says he is in stable condition and growing stronger by the day as he continues treatment in the intensive care unit.
Pietramale was involved in a car accident, according to the Omaha World-Herald.
Pietramale was taken to Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy.
Parish Shares Update From the ICU
Christ the King parish told its community through a Flocknote update that Pietramale was involved in the crash on Saturday evening and was being treated in the ICU at Bergan Mercy Hospital. “Fr. John Pietramale was involved in a car accident on Saturday evening. He is currently in the ICU at Bergan Mercy Hospital,” the parish wrote in the Flocknote message. A separate post offered an update on his recovery.
In a separate post, the parish said, “Fr. Pietramale is in stable condition and continues to grow stronger each day!” It thanked parishioners for their prayers and asked them to keep praying for his continued recovery. Parishes and people across the Omaha area have also posted messages of support for Pietramale on social media, according to the seed report.
A Pastor Known Across the Archdiocese
Pietramale has served as pastor of Christ the King Catholic Church since 2010, following earlier assignments as associate pastor at St. Margaret Mary and Christ the King. Before that, he served at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Martinsburg, St. Michael's Catholic Church in Coleridge, St. Pius X Catholic Church in Omaha, and St. Adalbert Parish in Omaha, according to the World-Herald's reporting.
Riley Johnson, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Omaha, said archdiocese staff have supported Christ the King parish since learning of the crash and will continue to do so. Omaha-area parishes have offered prayers and support for Pietramale as he recovers, reflecting the wide network of communities he has served over the years.
