Omaha is waking up to light rain on Halloween, with temperatures near 59 degrees early Saturday and more showers likely through the morning. Patchy fog may add another layer of gray, while the afternoon should turn warmer and somewhat drier, reaching about 66 degrees.
Rain chances are highest before 7 a.m., then gradually ease through the day. The latest outlook is wetter and more detailed than Hoodline’s Friday update, though the best outdoor window still appears to arrive later Saturday afternoon and evening.
Saturday Night Improves Before A Brief Sunday Break
Saturday night will remain mostly cloudy, with overnight lows in the 50s. Sunday brings mostly cloudy skies, a high in the mid-60s and only a small rain chance, making it the more comfortable day of the weekend.
That break will be short-lived. Rain chances rise again Sunday night, when showers are likely after midnight.
Monday Brings Strong Winds And Thunderstorms
A stronger system moves in Monday, bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms, with a high near 71 degrees.
The National Weather Service Omaha/Valley says broader rainfall totals could reach 0.5 to 1.5 inches, with pockets near 2 inches possible. A conditional severe-weather threat cannot be ruled out, so Monday plans may need more than an umbrella.
Showers and thunderstorms may continue Monday night before Tuesday turns cooler and breezier. Tuesday’s high is forecast near 59 degrees, with rain showers likely and northwest gusts reaching about 23 mph.
Mostly Sunny Weather Returns Midweek
Wednesday through Friday should bring highs in the 50s and lingering rain chances through the end of the week. Overnight lows will settle in the low to mid-40s, with lighter winds.
No watches, warnings or advisories are currently posted for the Omaha area. For Halloween plans, light rain gear should be useful early, while the afternoon and evening offer the best chance for a manageable trick-or-treating window.
