Rancho Cucamonga is getting a new coffee option this weekend. Black Rock Coffee Bar opens its newest store at 11370 Fourth St. on Sunday, October 25, marking the Oregon-born chain's eighth location in California.
The opening comes with six days of promotions designed to draw in new customers, according to a globenewswire.com announcement tied to the opening. Opening day itself brings $2 medium drinks, and the deals keep rolling through the following week: buy-one-get-one-free drinks on Monday, October 26, and 50% off a drink with a food purchase on Tuesday, October 27, per the Black Rock Coffee Bar grand-opening page.
The freebies continue later in the week — a limited-edition grand-opening sticker comes with any purchase on Wednesday, October 28, while supplies last, and a free T-shirt follows on Thursday, October 29, also while supplies last. The promotional run wraps up Friday, October 30, with $2 off any size drink. Customers who sign up for the Black Rock Rewards app earn points called bolts on purchases made in-store, online, or through the app, which can later be redeemed for free beverages, and the rewards program also includes egg bites.
Menu Built Around Fall Flavors and Protein Add-Ons
Black Rock's Rancho Cucamonga menu leans into the season, with Fall Remix drinks including the Caramel Apple Butter Shaken Espresso, Cinnamon Bun Latte, and Spellbound Berry Fuel. Pumpkin options round things out, including a Pumpkin Spiced Latte, Pumpkin Blondie, and a Pumpkin Spice Cookie Latte topped with cookie butter cold foam.
Beyond the seasonal lineup, the store offers year-round staples like the Caramel Blondie, Mexican Mocha, and Jackhammer, plus recently launched items including a Grilled Cheese and a Pumpkin Blondie Cake Pop. Customers looking for extra protein can add Protein Cold Foam, Protein Boosted Milk, or a Protein Boost to their order. The chain's Fuel energy drink line can be customized with more than 20 fruit flavors.
CEO Points to California Growth Push
Black Rock Coffee Bar chief executive Mark Davis said the company is glad to be putting down roots in the city. “We're excited to expand in the state” and join the Rancho Cucamonga community, Davis said, according to the announcement. Davis made the comment as part of the company's broader push into California, where the Rancho Cucamonga store becomes its eighth outpost in the state.
Black Rock was founded as a family-owned business in Oregon in 2008, and the company now operates more than 200 retail locations across seven states. The company opened 10 new locations in the second quarter of 2026 alone, reaching the 200-store milestone, according to a Black Rock investor relations release. That quarter brought in $63.0 million in revenue, up 25.0% year over year, alongside 4.2% same-store sales growth.
Expansion Plans Extend Well Beyond California
The Rancho Cucamonga opening is part of a larger fall rollout: the company said it planned to open 16 new locations across Arizona, California, Colorado, and Texas between September and November 2026, per its press materials. Company guidance for the full year called for total revenue between $255 million and $257 million, with 38 new store openings expected in 2026 and mid-single-digit same-store sales growth, according to Nation's Restaurant News.
That outlet also reported that Black Rock has set a long-term target of 1,000 stores by 2035, positioning itself as a rising contender in the drive-thru coffee segment alongside rivals like Dutch Bros, which recently posted 7.7% same-store sales growth for the fourth quarter compared with Black Rock's own reported 9.3% for the same period. Black Rock has been moving briskly on new openings elsewhere, too — in August, the company opened a location in Denver at 9111 E. 40th Ave., just off I-70, as it crossed the 200-store mark nationally.
Rancho Cucamonga has seen other coffee players expand locally as well. Klatch Coffee opened its third hometown cafe in the city last November, described at the time as the first of 20 planned locations in partnership with Sprouts Farmers Market, according to the Daily Bulletin. With Black Rock's Fourth Street doors opening Sunday, local coffee drinkers will have one more option to weigh alongside the city's existing shops.
