Paris Baguette has opened its newest central Ohio café in Upper Arlington, bringing a case full of cakes, croissants and sandwiches along with a full coffee bar to the Arlington Gateway development on Lane Avenue. The South Korea-based bakery chain's latest shop sits right next to the revamped Half Price Books location, giving Lane Avenue shoppers a fresh reason to linger.
As Breakfast With Nick reports, the Upper Arlington café follows the same self-selection model found at other Paris Baguette locations, with pastries displayed in cases so customers can grab a tray and tongs to pick their own croissants, tarts, doughnuts and cakes. The shop also stocks full-sized cakes alongside sweet and savory pastries, plus a cooler of sandwiches and larger grab-and-go items.
A Full Coffee Bar Joins the Pastry Case
Beyond the baked goods, the Upper Arlington location has a full coffee bar serving hot coffee, espresso, cold brew, matcha and specialty lattes, according to the same report. Among the standout drinks are an iced pumpkin latte and a Korean iced milk coffee made with milk and half-and-half, giving the café a distinct Korean-inspired touch alongside its French-style pastry lineup.
The café sits at 1369 W. Lane Ave. in Columbus, and customers can reach the shop by phone at (380) 800-2440 or follow its Instagram account, @pb_laneave, for updates. Breakfast With Nick's reporting lists the café's hours as daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., though NBC4 has reported the café's hours as 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
Fourth Stop in a Fast-Growing Central Ohio Footprint
The Upper Arlington shop marks Paris Baguette's fourth location around central Ohio, joining existing cafés in Hilliard, Polaris and Easton. Per NBC4, the Upper Arlington café is run by franchisee John Hong and allows visitors to dine in, pick up takeout and order catering services, serving a menu of cakes, breads, doughnuts, sandwiches, salads, smoothies and coffees.
Paris Baguette entered the Columbus market in 2024, opening its first shop at Easton Town Center at 3969 Merchants Row that July, according to Columbus Underground. A second Columbus café followed at Polaris Fashion Place in December 2024, as reported by The Columbus Dispatch, which noted the chain continues to expand across central Ohio. The Polaris location, at 8839 Lyra Drive, was described by Columbus Underground as the brand's second Columbus café and third in the state, following Paris Baguette's initial 2022 entry into Ohio with a Cincinnati location.
Central Ohio's bakery count grew again when a Hilliard-area café opened Aug. 20 at 5139 Raglan St., marking the chain's seventh Ohio location, per NBC4's separate report on that opening. Founded in South Korea in 1986 before arriving in the United States in 2005, Paris Baguette now counts more than 4,000 locations worldwide, including over 200 in America, according to NBC4's coverage of the Upper Arlington opening.
More Ohio Cafés on the Way
Hong has told 1851 Franchise that his development agreement calls for a five-store Ohio territory centered on Cincinnati and Columbus. “Our plan is to build out our five-store territory under the development agreement in Ohio, focusing on Cincinnati and Columbus,” Hong said, as reported by 1851 Franchise. NBC4 has separately reported that Hong plans to open three more Paris Baguette locations in the state, though their locations have not yet been determined.
The chain's rapid buildout isn't confined to Ohio. Paris Baguette opened 51 cafés across North America in 2024 and said it was on track to surpass 100 new locations on the continent by the end of 2025, according to NBC4's report. For now, Upper Arlington shoppers have a new stop for cake, coffee and pastries just steps from the neighborhood's refreshed Half Price Books.
