A 25-year-old Pawtucket, Rhode Island man is facing a string of charges after police say he broke into Brennan Middle School in Attleboro early Sunday, rifled through student lockers, damaged over a dozen window screens, and then climbed into a parked police cruiser outside the building before allegedly assaulting three officers back at the station.

Jamison Grover was arrested and charged Sunday morning in connection with the break-in, according to turnto10.com. Accounts of exactly when officers first responded differ slightly: WPRI reported officers went to the school at around 4:43 a.m. after its alarm system was activated, while turnto10.com reported the Attleboro Police Department responded just before 5 a.m. after the alarm system detected motion inside the building.

Lockers Searched, Screens Damaged

Once inside, police determined that multiple lockers at the school had been rummaged through, the station's report states. Officers also found 13 damaged window screens at the school, according to WPRI.

Outside the building, police allege Grover had entered a parked police cruiser and was found carrying property that had been taken from a student, per the same account from turnto10.com. As reported by NBC Boston, officials said Grover shouted and swore at the scene and was uncooperative while being taken into custody.

Alleged Assault at the Police Station

Police said Grover was combative during his arrest and allegedly assaulted three Attleboro officers once he reached the station, turnto10.com reported. NBC Boston, citing officials, reported the same allegation that Grover assaulted three officers after being taken into custody.

Grover was taken to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for evaluation, according to turnto10.com. He was expected to be arraigned Monday in Attleboro District Court, per NBC Boston, which reported that he faces charges of assault and battery, breaking and entering, malicious destruction of property, and disorderly conduct.
