The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society has revealed “ICONIC” as the theme for the 2027 Philadelphia Flower Show, promising a deep dive into how flowers and gardens have shaped art, fashion, food, fragrance and film. The show returns to the Pennsylvania Convention Center next March with more than 30 major exhibitors and, for the first time, a joint showcase pulling together five public gardens from across Pennsylvania.
According to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, as reported by NBC10 Philadelphia, the 2027 edition also marks the organization's 200th anniversary. The theme was officially announced Wednesday, with PhillyVoice reporting that it will be the 198th installment of the show. “'Iconic,' on display March 12-21, takes a look at how flowers have inspired art, fashion, books, films, perfume and more,” the outlet noted.
The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society's own event listing describes the public run of the show as March 13 through 21, 2027, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, with a Members' Preview Day set for noon to 4 p.m. on March 12 — a date some coverage folds into the overall show window. Either way, garden lovers have a packed nine days to look forward to.
Five Gardens, One Stage
What sets 2027 apart is a first-ever collaboration bringing together five of Pennsylvania's public gardens under a single showcase: Chanticleer Garden, Longwood Gardens, Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, Pittsburgh Botanic Garden and The Arboretum at Penn State. It's a lineup that stretches from the Philadelphia suburbs to Pittsburgh, underscoring just how much horticultural talent the state has to offer in one room.
For Pittsburgh Botanic Garden, it will be a debut appearance at the Philadelphia show. The garden says its display will trace “the story of transformation of this land, from coal mine to botanic garden,” according to its own event page.
What Else Is on Deck
Beyond the headline exhibitors, the show will host the Hamilton Horticourt, where growers and floral artists compete for blue ribbons, PhillyVoice reports. The free Know to Grow speaker series will bring daily talks from gardening experts, while Kids Cocoon offers younger visitors hands-on activities built around plants and nature.
The show has long billed itself as an international draw. Per the horticultural society's exhibitor materials, organizers say the event is “truly international, with us welcoming designers from around the world every year.” That global reach, paired with the new statewide garden showcase, gives the 2027 edition a noticeably broader footprint than past years.
Tickets and Pricing
Tickets for the 2027 show are already on sale through the horticultural society's website. Online adult tickets run $45 Monday through Thursday and $55 Friday through Sunday, per PhillyVoice's reporting on pricing.
Each year's theme tends to build on what came before. Last year's show carried the theme “Rooted: Origins of American Gardening,” which celebrated the history of horticulture and landscaping in the United States, while 2025 featured exhibits like Mark Cook Landscape and Contracting's “Signature of Time,” according to the horticultural society's exhibitor archive.
