Philadelphia is starting Friday with humid air and temperatures in the mid-60s, but the city is headed for a summerlike high near 85 degrees. Skies should stay mostly sunny through much of the day before a chance of showers arrives after 5 p.m., giving evening plans a small weather complication.
The National Weather Service expects southwest winds of 5 to 10 mph and only a slight rain risk through the afternoon. Showers could become more likely Friday night before tapering off early Saturday, with rainfall generally staying below a quarter-inch.
Saturday Offers A Cooler Reset
Saturday should be partly sunny and much cooler, with a high near 72 degrees and strong, gusty winds. It looks like the better day for outdoor plans, although southern New Jersey and Delaware could hold onto a few clouds or early showers.
The forecast is a sharper update to Thursday's Hoodline forecast, with the weekend outlook now extending into a more noticeable cool-down across the region.
Sunday Rain Chance Leads Into Crisp Week
Sunday looks unsettled, with a 50% chance of showers after 8 a.m., mostly cloudy skies and a high near 67 degrees. Monday should turn mostly sunny near 70, followed by sunny skies Tuesday with a high around 61.
Wednesday and Thursday remain dry and bright, with highs near 64 and 73 to 74 degrees, respectively. No watches, warnings or advisories are listed for Philadelphia, but residents heading out Friday evening should keep a light rain layer handy as the front moves through.
