Phish is coming back to Madison Square Garden for a four-night New Year's run, and the final show on Jan. 2, 2027, will mark a milestone three decades in the making: the band's 100th performance at the storied arena. The shows run Dec. 30 through Jan. 2, with each night scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m.
The announcement, detailed on Phish's official website, confirms the band will play Dec. 30, Dec. 31, Jan. 1 and Jan. 2 at the Garden, with that final date billed as the 100th MSG show in the band's history. Fans can request tickets through noon ET Monday via the band's own site, with the general public sale opening at noon ET on Oct. 16 through Ticketmaster, according to NJ.com, which described the Ticketmaster sale as the last official one on the schedule. The lineup remains Trey Anastasio, Mike Gordon, Jon Fishman and Page McConnell, a group TicketNews notes is known for extended instrumental passages and setlists that change night to night.
Resale listings have already popped up ahead of the official sale. NJ.com found the cheapest ticket for the Dec. 30 show listed on Viagogo at $251, while the Dec. 31 show's cheapest listing ran $444. Prices climbed further for the back half of the run, with the Jan. 1 show's cheapest Viagogo listing at $308 and the milestone Jan. 2 show commanding $483 for its lowest listed ticket, per the same outlet.
A Three-Decade Relationship With the Garden
Phish's history at Madison Square Garden stretches back to Dec. 30, 1994, when the band first took the stage there, according to Bass Magazine. Since then, the band has celebrated 17 New Year's Eve shows at the arena, the outlet reports, along with other milestones like the 2017 Baker's Dozen residency — a 13-night stand that, per SPIN, featured 237 songs without a single repeat.
Exactly how many shows Phish had logged at the Garden before this run depends on who's counting. Bass Magazine puts the figure at 96 performances heading into the New Year's dates, citing a five-night run this past summer that celebrated music from the band's early and mid-90s era. SPIN, meanwhile, put the number at 99 shows over 32 years. Either way, the Jan. 2 performance is being billed as the 100th, and to mark the occasion, Phish premiered a video celebrating the longtime Madison Square Garden employees who've been part of the band's shows there over the years, Bass Magazine reports.
What's Next After New York
Once the Garden run wraps, Phish isn't done touring. The band will headline its own Phish: Riviera Maya 2027 festival at Moon Palace Cancún in Mexico, according to Rolling Stone. For now, though, the focus is on the Garden, where a band that first played there in the final days of 1994 is set to hit triple digits in front of a New York crowd ringing in 2027.
