A female pedestrian was seriously injured Thursday night after being struck by a pickup truck near Seventh Avenue and Bear Valley Road in Victorville. The driver, who was alone in the vehicle, stayed at the scene, was not hurt, and cooperated with deputies as investigators worked to piece together what happened.
The collision happened around 10:10 p.m. near the intersection, according to VVNG. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital for treatment, San Bernardino County Sheriff's spokeswoman Gloria Orejel told the outlet. Her identity, age, and current condition had not been released at the time of publication.
Orejel said alcohol and drugs do not appear to have been factors in the crash. The cause of the collision remains under investigation, and no additional details about how the crash unfolded have been made public.
A Stretch of Road With a Troubled History
This is not the first serious pedestrian crash reported on Bear Valley Road this year. Back in April, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on the same roadway, in the 11790 block just west of 2nd Avenue, according to a report from Arash Law. That incident, reported around 7:10 p.m., involved a black four-door Mazda sedan that was found at the scene with significant front-end damage. The injured pedestrian in that crash was taken to a nearby hospital, and a helicopter was later dispatched, per the same account.
Countywide, traffic collisions remain a persistent public safety concern. San Bernardino County data show 14,743 people were injured or killed in vehicle collisions in 2025 alone, including 14,530 injured and 213 killed, according to the San Bernardino County Community Indicators program.
