Police Seek Information About Hit-and-Run
The Denver Police Department is seeking information about a hit-and-run.
A pedestrian suffered serious injuries near Colorado Boulevard, and the motorist left the scene. Police are working to track down the driver.
How to Report a Tip
Anyone with information is asked to contact Metro Denver Crime Stoppers rather than the department directly. Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000, and the tip line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week, per Metro Denver Crime Stoppers. To qualify for the reward while staying anonymous, tipsters must contact the tip line or submit a report through the Crime Stoppers website rather than reaching out to police directly.
Not the First Hit-and-Run Near This Intersection
This is not the first serious crash reported near this stretch of North Colorado Boulevard. A January 2025 collision near the same intersection with East Bruce Randolph Avenue also left a pedestrian with serious injuries, though in that earlier case the motorist stayed at the scene, according to Accident News Denver Trial.
Denver has also seen a string of other hit-and-run cases in recent months. Police sought information about a separate crash on Oct. 13 that seriously injured a bicyclist near North Speer Boulevard and West 14th Avenue, where an unidentified northbound motorist struck an eastbound cyclist in a marked crosswalk and fled, as reported by The Denver Gazette. In July, a large silver SUV struck a bicyclist at 15th and Wynkoop streets downtown and fled the scene at about 9:45 p.m., leaving the cyclist with serious bodily injury, according to The Denver Post.
Part of a Statewide Pattern
The crash arrives amid broader concern about pedestrian safety on Colorado roads. State transportation officials have reported that 127 pedestrians were killed on Colorado roadways in 2025, roughly double the number killed a decade earlier, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation. Hoodline has previously reported that pedestrian fatalities and hit-and-run crashes have risen sharply across the state in recent years.
No arrest or citation has been reported in connection with Sunday's crash. Anyone who recognizes the suspect vehicle or has information about the driver is urged to come forward through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers.
