Downtown Providence is getting its holiday glow back. The PVD Downcity Holiday Market is set to return to Grant's Block Park and the surrounding streets, bringing food trucks, artisan vendors and live music to the corner of Union and Westminster streets for its third season.
According to The Providence Journal, the market is billed as a seasonal outdoor shopping experience featuring more than 25 rotating vendors, along with food and live music at Grant's Block Park. Most sources agree the event runs Thursday, Dec. 3, through Sunday, Dec. 6, 2026, though Rhode Island Monthly lists the market running Thursday, Dec. 4, through Sunday, Dec. 7, with times varying by day — a discrepancy that has not been resolved.
Organizers at indowncity.com describe the scene in vivid terms, writing that visitors can expect to see “food trucks, marketplace vendors, live music and holiday cheer” filling Grant's Block Park and the streets around it. The site also notes that vendor applications for “unique artisanal vendors” opened in August, part of the lead-up to what it calls the market's third go-round.
Where and When to Find the Market
The Providence Tourism Council describes the event as an “enchanting outdoor marketplace where visitors and residents can meet, shop, drink, eat, and support local businesses,” located at Grant's Block Park, on the corner of Union and Westminster streets in downtown Providence. The council lists Thursday's hours as 5 to 9 p.m., kicking off what it calls the market's third successful season.
The festival's official schedule, posted on pvdholidayfest.org, pins the market's address as 260 Westminster St. and lays out a lineup of entertainment for opening day, including the Providence Holiday Saxophone Choir performing from 5 to 5:20 p.m. and complimentary festive face painting running the full 5-to-9-p.m. window.
Mural Tours and Free Admission
Beyond shopping and snacking, the market weekend includes a cultural add-on: the same festival schedule lists holiday lit mural tours from The Avenue Concept on the evenings of Dec. 4 and 5, starting from the market itself. Rhode Island Monthly, which also catalogs the market among its roundup of regional holiday markets, confirms that admission is free.
With a date conflict still unsettled between sources and several logistical details — including a full vendor list, parking information and any weather policy — yet to be confirmed, shoppers planning a trip downtown may want to keep an eye on both the Providence Tourism Council and the festival's own schedule page as December approaches.
