Charlotte is waking up to clear skies Tuesday, with temperatures around 59 degrees early and a sunny climb toward 83 by afternoon. The dry, summer-like stretch will continue through Friday before a strong cold front sends the weekend forecast in a much cooler direction.
Sunny And Warm Through Friday
Tuesday will stay bright and rain-free, with light west winds and a high near 83. According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday and Thursday should reach about 86 degrees under sunny skies, while Friday remains warm near 86 with somewhat stronger southwest winds.
That makes for an easy stretch for outdoor plans, commutes and patio time, with no watches, warnings or advisories listed for the Charlotte area. Nights will be comfortable by October standards, with lows near 60 Tuesday, 62 Wednesday and 64 Thursday.
Weekend Brings A Nearly 20-Degree Drop
The big change arrives Friday, when a cold front moves through, bringing gusty northwesterly winds and a low around 49. Saturday will still be sunny, but the high is expected to reach only 64 degrees, with north winds around 13 to 16 mph.
Sunday stays sunny near 64, followed by another chilly night around 43. Temperatures begin recovering Monday, when the forecast calls for sunshine and a high near 70, though the overnight low could still fall to about 49.
