Raleigh woke Monday under a blanket of clouds, with temperatures around 63 degrees early in the day. The gray start should give way to a drier, warmer afternoon topping out near 75, with little chance of rain.
Clouds Thin Out Monday
Cloud cover should gradually break by late morning and early afternoon, while north winds stay light near 5 mph. Monday night turns partly cloudy, with temperatures dropping to around 55. The National Weather Service has no watches, warnings or advisories posted for the Raleigh area.
Cool Nights, Sunny Days Through Wednesday
Tuesday looks sunny and cooler, with a high near 72 and a low around 47 Tuesday night. Wednesday rebounds to 76 under sunny skies, then warmer weather arrives Thursday with a high near 84. It is a pleasant stretch for outdoor plans, although early mornings will feel distinctly fall-like.
The stretch is close to early-October norms at first: Raleigh-Durham’s Oct. 5 normal high and low are 77 and 55 degrees, respectively. Monday’s forecast high of 75 and overnight low of 55 are near those averages, while Tuesday’s 72-degree high is cooler. Thursday’s forecast high of 84 would be warmer than the Oct. 8 normal high of 76.
Next Rain Chance Waits Until The Weekend
Friday stays mostly sunny near 81, while Saturday is partly sunny near 77. Rain chances rise Saturday night, then continue Sunday with a 50% chance of showers and a high near 74, according to the National Weather Service forecast. That is a notable shift from Hoodline's earlier Raleigh forecast, with the latest outlook keeping the workweek dry and pushing the next meaningful rain chance to late Saturday and Sunday.
The weekend rain signal builds gradually rather than pointing to a guaranteed washout: the NWS forecast gives Saturday night a 30% chance of showers and Sunday a 50% chance. Its Sunday outlook calls for showers, not thunderstorms, with a high near 74.
