Raleigh is waking Sunday to mostly clear skies and a crisp start, with temperatures in the mid-40s around daybreak. Sunshine will take over quickly, pushing the city to a high near 72 degrees while rain stays out of the picture.
Sunny Sunday, Breezy Afternoon
Northeast winds will run 5 to 10 mph and could gust near 18 mph, especially during the afternoon. The combination of sunshine and a steady breeze should make for comfortable outdoor plans, though early-morning walkers and anyone out after sunset will want a layer.
The National Weather Service Raleigh office is calling for a dry stretch across central North Carolina, with no watches, warnings or advisories in effect. Sunday night should be mostly clear and colder, with a low around 43 and lighter northeast winds.
Warmth Builds Through Halloween
Monday stays sunny near 70, Tuesday reaches 72, and Wednesday and Thursday remain mild at 71 and 73. Friday is the warmest day in the near-term forecast at 78, followed by a mostly sunny Halloween Saturday near 77.
That late-week warmth is a meaningful update to Saturday’s Hoodline forecast, which had Raleigh closer to 70 on Sunday and did not yet show the same stretch of upper-70s temperatures by Halloween. The practical outlook is simple: cool mornings, comfortable afternoons and very little reason to keep the umbrella by the door.
