Richmond is waking up to clear skies Sunday before temperatures climb toward a comfortable 69 degrees by afternoon. The night will bring a sharper autumn chill, with skies staying clear and temperatures falling into the mid-30s.
Sunny Sunday Gives Way To A Cold Night
The National Weather Service forecast calls for a sunny Sunday with a light northeast wind around 6 mph and no chance of rain. National Weather Service forecasters expect the clearest and warmest part of the day to arrive during the afternoon, while residents heading out early may want an extra layer.
Temperatures will dip quickly after sunset, reaching the mid-30s overnight. The calm, clear setup could make Monday morning feel colder than the daytime forecast suggests, while Coastal Flood Statements have been issued for some locations in the forecast area.
Dry Stretch Brings Warmer Afternoons
Monday will rebound to about 71 degrees under sunny skies, followed by a high near 72 on Tuesday. Wednesday stays mostly sunny with a high near 69, keeping the forecast dry through the middle of the week.
The warmup becomes more noticeable late in the week, with Thursday reaching roughly 73 degrees and Friday climbing to 76. Saturday should remain mostly sunny and mild near 74 degrees, offering a pleasant finish to the week with little sign of rain.
